Position Overview
We seek a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our client's team in Cooma, NSW. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel generators and auxiliary equipment in this role. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducted inspections and diagnosed technical issues with diesel generators and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment.
- Identify and repair faults efficiently and effectively.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Carry out on-site project installations as required.
- Provide on-call breakdown response when available.
Experience & Skills Required
- Prior experience in power generation maintenance and repairs (highly desirable).
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Basic computer literacy for service reporting and documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong work ethic and reliability.
- Some travel may be required for on-site installations and breakdown response.
Education & Qualifications
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
- Current Manual Driver’s Licence.
- Construction White Card.
- Applicants must have full Australian working rights.
