Position Overview

We seek a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our client's team in Cooma, NSW. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel generators and auxiliary equipment in this role. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conducted inspections and diagnosed technical issues with diesel generators and auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment.
  • Identify and repair faults efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Carry out on-site project installations as required.
  • Provide on-call breakdown response when available.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Prior experience in power generation maintenance and repairs (highly desirable).
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Basic computer literacy for service reporting and documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Some travel may be required for on-site installations and breakdown response.

Education & Qualifications

  • Relevant mechanical trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
  • Current Manual Driver’s Licence.
  • Construction White Card.
  • Applicants must have full Australian working rights.
