Mechanical Fitter – Workshop Role
Location: Mackay, QLD
Rate: $50/hour + Penalties
Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Friday: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM


Overview:
Join a leading team in Mackay as a Mechanical Fitter, specialising in fixed-plant processing equipment. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with crushers, sizers, and other industrial machinery in a safe, high-performance workshop environment. We want to hear from you if you’re a skilled tradesperson with a strong commitment to safety and quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Assessment: Disassemble, inspect, and evaluate processing equipment for wear, damage, and defects.

  • Refurbishment: Restore components to enhance functionality and performance.

  • Repair & Assembly: Accurately repair and install parts following detailed technical drawings.

  • Workshop Operations: Maintain an organised, clean, and safe work environment.

  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and legislative requirements.

  • Professionalism: Represent the company with a positive, professional attitude while maintaining high standards of workmanship.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Trade Qualification: Certificate in Fitting.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year post-apprenticeship experience with crushers, HPGRs, and gearboxes.

  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Basic welding skills.
    • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Licences & Tickets:

    • Crane Operator Ticket.
    • Forklift Licence.
    • Dogman Ticket.
    • Valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Additional Skills:

    • Strong commitment to safety with a focus on maintaining a safe work environment.
    • Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
    • Ability to work efficiently and safely in high-risk environments.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Full working rights in Australia.
