Position Title: Operations and HSC Coordinator (HSC & Construction Background)
Location: Balcatta, WA
Salary: $85 – $90k + Super – Flexibility for the right candidate.
Reports To: General Manager / Directors
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview:
The Operations and HSC Coordinator is responsible for supporting and optimising daily operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, and driving efficiency across construction-related projects. This role involves assisting and implementing operational strategies and assisting the team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with industry regulations.
Operational Management:
- Assist with all operational aspects of the operational and financial aspects of the business. (Perth Metro, some regional – Residential, Commercial and Industrial)
- Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance efficiency, safety, and compliance.
- Assist and administrate effective allocation of resources, staff, training, and performance management.
- Collaborate with the key stake holders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and industry standards, including liaising with regulatory bodies as needed.
- Monitor and report on operational performance, including KPIs, cost management, and productivity improvements.
- Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to minimize risks and maintain high safety standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on innovation, technology adoption, and process optimization.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- Conduct regular audits of operational sites and procedures to ensure best practices are followed.
- Assisting with the Tender/quotation process from start to finish, including variations. Monitoring costings and financial performance throughout the projects, identifying areas for cost savings and operational efficiency.
Health, Safety, and Compliance (HSC):
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implement and maintain comprehensive HSC policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Deliver HSC training and awareness programs for staff, subcontractors and clients.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop operational staff to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration across departments.
Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Develop and execute operational strategies to support business growth and objectives.
- Provide regular operational reports to senior management, including key metrics and performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities for business improvement and contribute to strategic planning.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HSC / Administration roles
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and compliance standards (e.g., WHS regulations).
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Relevant qualifications in Business Administration, or related fields.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., Cert IV WHS) is desirable.
